How long do you serve ice cream for?

It depends on the size of your event or party, and the number of people we’re catering for, but it typically ranges from between 1 to 2 hours. For shows, sports events, fetes etc it will typically be for longer periods or the whole day.

Do we need power?

No, we don’t need power whilst on site and the van engine won’t be running. Our freezers are plugged in overnight and will stay cold throughout the day.

What areas do we serve?

We are based in Southend-on-Sea and typically cover a radius of 30 miles, but we're happy to travel further afield; towing the van on our trusty trailer!

What happens if it rains?

A spot of rain never hurt anyone (or put anyone off their ice cream!). Some people worry we might not turn up if it rains but have no fear, the Wayman's team will always turn up at the agreed service time come wind, rain or shine!

Can we get in the van?

Brides, grooms and guests of honour are welcome to join us in the van for a photo and to serve their guests.

How many ice creams do we get?

We price our ice cream van hire on number of people. This includes at least one ice cream per person, with seconds available if some guests don’t have one.

Will the chimes be playing when you turn up?

Yes, it’s all part of the vintage ice cream van experience. We’ll work with you to agree the perfect time, or prompt, to switch them on for maximum effect.

What if I have allergies?

We will always do our best to cater for any dietary or allergy requirements. Please contact us to discuss your requirements.

How long do we get the Garden Games for?

Duration of hire is flexible depending on your requirements and can be all day or for shorter periods, typically when combined with hire of our ice cream van.

How does it typically work when Garden Games hire is combined with Ice Cream Van hire?

– the games will be set-up on arrival at agreed time, ice creams will then be served for up to 2 hours (depending on the type of event and number of guests), games will be packed away after approximately 3 hours play. For weddings, this scenario works well either between your ceremony and wedding breakfast or after the wedding breakfast. We like to offer flexibility regarding timings wherever possible and are happy to fit in with your plans.
